WHO I AM AND WHY I TEACH

"I firmly believe that age is just a number, and what matters is tailoring exercises and training routines to an individual's level and needs."

My passion for the body and its limitless potential has driven me through many years of dance, participating in a running club here in Denmark, karate training, and a generally active lifestyle.

I am deeply fascinated by how targeted training can improve physical fitness and have an enormous positive impact on mood, well-being, and overall health.

I firmly believe that age is just a number, and what matters is tailoring exercises and training routines to an individual’s level and needs.

With over 20 years of experience as a physiotherapist and Pilates instructor, I have had the pleasure of working and teaching in England, Norway, and Denmark, and have had the privilege of teaching people of all ages and fitness levels—from young ballet dancers to an 85-year-old using a walker. Over time, my approach to training has become more holistic, focusing on increasing strength, flexibility, and overall well-being.

What is most important to me is creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and able to work with their bodies in a positive and supportive way. I believe that anyone, regardless of age or physical starting point, can achieve greater well-being through targeted and personalized physical training.

Let’s begin a journey together towards a healthier, stronger, and more flexible life, and I look forward to supporting you on your path to better physical and mental well-being!

PILATES

- Pilates is a holistic form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility, and posture

through controlled movements and breathing techniques.

This method helps build muscle strength and tone the body while improving balance, mobility, and body awareness.

Pilates is particularly effective for strengthening the core—the central muscles of your abdomen, back, and pelvis—which is essential for good posture and reducing the risk of injury.

The benefits of Pilates

The benefits of Pilates include improved flexibility, better posture, increased muscle strength and tone, as well as enhanced mental well-being. It also works to harmonize the body and mind, contributing to a sense of inner calm and reduced stress levels.

The history of Pilates

Pilates was invented by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. Joseph, a German physical trainer, envisioned a workout system that integrated the body, mind, and spirit. He developed this method during World War I to improve rehabilitation for war veterans. The method was further developed and refined when he moved to the USA, where it quickly gained popularity among dancers and athletes for its ability to enhance performance, reduce injury, and support physical rehabilitation.

Pilates is for everyone

Pilates is for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. It offers a gentle yet challenging workout that can be adapted to individual needs and goals. From athletes to seniors, from beginners to advanced practitioners, everyone can benefit from the many advantages Pilates has to offer.

This universal appeal and the broad health benefits make Pilates a timeless and valuable component of any fitness routine.
